Teledyne Expands Blackfly S GigE Portfolio with 5 MP Rolling Shutter Camera

RICHMOND, Canada – October 22, 2025 – Teledyne® FLIR® IIS today announced the release of the new Blackfly® S GigE 5 MP rolling shutter camera (BFS-PGE-50Y2M/BFS-PGE-50Y2C), available for order beginning October 22, 2025.
The new model enhances Teledyne’s proven Blackfly S GigE platform, delivering higher performance, improved image quality, and seamless integration for machine vision and industrial applications.
The BFS-PGE-50Y2M/C is built on the Onsemi® AR0521 sensor and features Global Reset technology. This implementation reduces motion blur and delivers image consistency approaching global shutter performance, deal for precise inspection, alignment, and measurement tasks.
With a 24 FPS frame rate, enhanced signal-to-noise ratio (up to ~51% improvement), and increased dynamic range (~16% gain) compared to previous-generation 5 MP rolling shutter cameras, the BFS-PGE-50Y2M/C offers sharper, faster, and more reliable imaging in demanding environments.
Built on Teledyne’s trusted Blackfly S foundation, the camera integrates advanced automation features, a mature Teledyne GigE framework, and the Spinnaker SDK for stable streaming, precise control, and straightforward system integration.
The model features a CS-mount design for flexible optics and system integration.

The Blackfly S GigE 5 MP rolling shutter (BFS-PGE-50Y2M/C) is available for order starting October 22, 2025, with an estimated two-week lead time following order confirmation.
