Type-2 Superlattice Detectors

Teledyne Judson Technologies’ Type-II Superlattice (T2SL) detectors are available in both room temperature and TE-cooled configurations, operating with a cut-off wavelength tailored to specific infrared applications. T2SLs offer several benefits, including the ability to tune the detection cut-off wavelength over a wide range by adjusting the thickness of the layers. They also have lower Auger recombination rates compared to other materials like HgCdTe, which can lead to lower dark currents and potentially higher operating temperatures.
